OUR TRAVELS OUR TRAVELS - BATON ROUGE, LA. - FEBRUARY 2003 We have been going into the Baton Rouge, La. Area for many years, as that is also where Pastor John is from. We have known the people and the churches and fellowships for a long time. This visit, we knew that the Lord had told us to "Go". In other words, we had a message to share. We went first to Grand Isle, La. and had two meetings down there. The group came together as they did the last time we met which was around 1 1/2 years ago. How the prophetic moved as we ministered. "Prepare yourselves, for there is something coming to the United States." Not prophecies and teachings that God is going to bless us continually, but a serious warning to pray, fast, seek God's face. We came right after the shuttle event, and even in that, the Lord spoke that "man had done it" in other words, it was something that had hit the shuttle to cause such a disaster. Of course the natural mind does not want to think that way, but there was conformation upon conformation in the Body of Christ, that something did hit the shuttle. The Holy Spirit was speaking to different ones about that. We know people prophecy here and there, and prophets gather together to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, but I love it when the Body of Christ comes together and also hears and discerns what is being said. When we spoke of something catastrophic happening to us here in the United States, two or three would come up to us and say, they had perceived that happening. I would say it was a general consensus that something was about to take place in our country. In fact, one sister came up and said her mother in the 1960's saw such things and reported them to her home church at that time in Baton Rouge, and in all probability was told to leave because who would believe such a report? The clarity of teaching was coming forth, and many said that it was the first time they had understood some things in such a way. On one teaching, the second coming of the Lord was just spelled out, and so clear, and received. In Baton Rouge and surrounding areas, again, the Lord centered on the preparedness that people must come to and begin to evaluate in their minds of how close we must come to the Lord. We need to be in that place of the shelter of the Almighty, the total selling out to the Lord. We have to "fix-it" as we were told through a personal story given in our own fellowship. Does anything in our personal lives need "fixed?" Yes, we have to make sure we are not at odds with anyone, making everything right that needs to be right. After the word went forth, the Holy Spirit would move with personal prophecy and the over-powering of His presence. Worship and Praise always was there among us, as Bro. John would sing and play his guitar and we would enter into what the Lord wanted. In Maurpaus, La. we had an awesome service in that little church in the Bayou. We have been part of them for a long time and the precious pastor and wife and church received with joy what the Lord had for them and spoke to them. They said they always welcomed us, for they knew we had the word of the Lord for them. And the word was, "Pray, even to come to the church everyday and pray, for this church would be an instrument in the midst of that Bayou in French country to ward off some of what is coming." The Lord challenged them and gave them a mandate - to pray. There was a re-commitment from the people to pray, as some of them confessed that they no longer were praying as they once had been. Our meetings were two a day - and with traveling time and going on into Texas, the Lord was doing a lot in a short time. The church of Texas welcomed us - and it warmed our hearts to see the fruit of our ministry there with those whom we had pastored many years ago. We just named them on the spot - "The Church of Ft. Worth" - may they be blessed and go on to serve the Lord. And then we were with Pastor John's family - and what a wonderful time we had in all that the Lord did between us. We just praise Him for that. We were glad to come home, tired but elated by the presence of the Lord in the meetings down south. Our little fellowship is small, but the Lord has good things for it. He spoke to us when we came home, to maintain - what a wonderful word - maintain - to secure - to hold fast - to persevere- to keep what is already there. So we also have a mandate from the Lord, and as always, we say, have your own way Lord Jesus. Love to you all - Rene
