From The Lencas Indians To The
Presidential Palace
Honduras - June 2010
Our second part of this journey took us to the Lencas Indians in the Limpera Providence .in the north west part of Honduras. It was quite a trip to get there. On the way, we stopped one night at “Protection”, a town high in the mountains. We ministered to a church, and had a great service in which the Holy Spirit moved on the people in their various needs. Many were healed. Pastor Noel prophesied to us that we were going to meet with government officials, which we did when we got to Tegucigalpa. Pastor Noel did not know anything about our intention to visit the president. When arriving at Santa Theresa, we began to minister to the Lencas Indians, who live 7,000 feet in the mountains. There we had a seminar for two days with the leaders and pastors who were so hungry for the Word of God. Many of the pastors and leaders and church members received the baptism in the Holy Spirit. It was quite an event. They eagerly received Bro. John’s books in Spanish on different subjects.
We traveled 4 hours by bus to Tegucigalpa, after which we had five days and nights of ministry of word and moving in the gifts of the Holy Spirit in home groups and churches. Doors for us opened to meet with the president and also with the retired General of the Army, General Romeo Vasquez Velasqez who received the words of the Lord and prayer. He graciously invited us in the future back for a visit again to his office and also to his home. He is the General who made the decision a year ago, along with the courts and parliament to remove the president from office who wanted to change the Constitution of Honduras. One thing the General said was that “He had to choose duty over the friendship and ambitions of the residing president at that time.” This was an honorable and brave thing to do and since then, Honduras is being blessed, for God is with Honduras. She maintained her integrity.
The President’s office opened to us on June 25th, and we were able to spend 30 minutes with President Porfirio Lobo Sosa. He spoke perfect English, enabling us to converse with him concerning the Lord’s word as follows: “Many years ago Honduras was called Benjamin, by the Lord, the Hebrew name meaning, “Son of my right hand” (Genesis 35:18); also Psalms 80:17, “Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.” This signifies one much loved and regarded, particular dear. God’s hand is upon Honduras. We also shared from the Old Testament Jacob’s blessing upon Benjamin from Genesis 49:27, “Benjamin shall raven as a wolf: in the morning he shall devour the prey, and at night he shall divide the spoil.” It was something to see the word “wolf” in the scripture, as this new president has the name “Lobo” or “wolf”. There are spiritual understandings to this scripture. We were also able to pray for the president and share more words of the Lord. Rene was instructed by the Lord to buy the president a gift, and what it was to be, and to tell the president it was a “gift from God.” The gift was an expensive bowl. There was a reason for this gift, which we shall explain in the next article entitled, “The Bowl.”
